I was standing on the dock of our marina and recorded this small boat passing by. Recorded with my sony stereo recorder. Enjoy and comment and rate and download as well.
Bow wave of a ~8m sailing boat in calm water, distant micing. No sounds from the sail (could just as well be a motor boat depending on what you layer the sound with ;) ). There is also recording with a more close up perspective of the bow wave. Recorded with a ~30cm ab pair of neumann km183 on a tascam hd-p2, 48khz, 24bit.
Autopilot of a sail boat correcting the route during navigation. Recorded with a contact microphone applied to the back wall of the stern cabin. Mono, contact mic (jrf).
Oar from a little boat on a river. Very close up stereo recording; marne river, france, 2007. Recorded with schoeps ab ortfrecorded on tascam dap148khz, 16 bits.
Motorboat running, increasing in speed then steady. Water sloshing and some birds. Eventually slows and heavy wave sound. Engine revving and sputtering at end.
Recorded from my window, not far from the harbour. Horns from cargo ships of a local company (but worldwide sized), special symphony for the funeral of the founder as a ribute to him.
A partially down dead tree caught on another tree, branches rubbing together in the wind. I put my phone on the tree so the phone would catch the vibration as well as the sound. Could be used for a sailboat/ropes creaking as well. Samsung s9 - voice memo - m4a - audacity - trim/amplify - wav.
